With the proper seal, vacuum sealing can protect food and other products from dust, moisture, insects, freezer burn, and a variety of other external elements that may harm or damage products. Vacuum sealing is also an excellent barrier of protection against freezer burn during long-term freezer storage. The seal closing the bag makes all this possible. The seal is King!
Ensuring each bag's seal is key! So be sure to:
Verify the Sealing Area is Squeaky Clean - Simply use a cloth or paper towel to wipe away any and all moister or particles.
Don't Overfill Bags - Be sure to leave several inches between the seal area and the item being sealed to ensure the bag can lay flat across the seal bar.
Ensure the Seal is Complete - Always make sure the seal is fully complete before removal. With thicker bags, you may have to seal the bag a few seconds longer depending on the machine.
Double Check the Seal is Pristine- Once your vacuum seal is complete, double check the seal for any air bubbles, wrinkles, or holes. If you see any imperfection, then you'll want to reseal the bag.
